People & Products

This project involved 2 parts: Portraits and products, in this case a watch.

Part 1: Setting up lighting

These diagrams show the full studio lighting setup used for the portraits. Each arrangement includes four lights positioned around the subject: a key light to shape the face, supporting lights placed to control shadows and add separation, and a background light to keep the backdrop evenly lit. The goal of the setup was to create balanced, controlled lighting that highlights specific parts of the subject

Part 2: The Shot

These are the final portraits created using the setups above. My goal was to capture soft lighting while keeping natural detail in the subject’s face.

Part 3: Product photo setup

For the product portion of the project, I used a light box with diffused LEDs to eliminate reflections and hotspots on the watch. This controlled environment was essential for photographing reflective materials, helping evenly distribute light and create smooth highlights across the band and screen.

Part 4: The Shot

These are the final product images. The setup allowed the watch to be captured with clean reflections and crisp detail, matching the style of commercial product photography.
